Accessibility Statement

HAWAIIAN HORSE HERITAGE aims to make its website usable by visitors with a range of accessibility needs, and we are committed to improving the clarity, readability, and navigation of our content.

Our target

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our design and testing target. We have not yet completed a formal evaluation, so we do not claim conformance.

What we have built in

  • Semantic HTML and a logical heading structure.
  • Full keyboard navigation, a skip-to-content link, and visible focus states.
  • Meaningful alternative text for informative images.
  • Labelled form fields with clear, accessible error messages.
  • Color combinations chosen for sufficient contrast.
  • Text that resizes with browser settings and layouts that adapt to small screens.
  • Reduced motion for visitors who have requested it in their system settings.

Media

Where we publish audio or video, we will provide captions or transcripts when available.

Known limitations

Some third-party photographs may not yet carry detailed descriptions. We are continuing to review the site.
